The New York State Assembly has already passed the same-sex marriage bill, and now it's up to the Senate. The Senate is generally considered to be more conservative than the Assembly, so it could get awfully tricky.

If you're a resident of New York State, I firmly encourage you to send an e-mail or letter to your district's senator (or any other senator) asking them to vote yes on the same-sex marriage bill.

Find out which senator represents your district here to write a letter or send a personal e-mail, or go to this website to shoot off a form e-mail. If you've got the time, do all three!

This is a matter that means a lot to a lot of people, and while some senators probably won't be convinced, quite a few still consider themselves to be undecided on this issue. E-mails and letters from constituents may make a difference here, and even if they don't, we won't know unless we try.

Speaking of Jason Schwartzman, my sister and I were discussing the current doings of his little brother Robbie Schwartzman/Carmine/Cage/Coppola this weekend (Robbie has changed his last name many times, and I'm not sure what he's going by these days). Apparently he's still singing in Rooney, his mediocre band that only plays on the episodes of talk shows that aren't aired. Go, Robbie, go!

And in case that's not enough Schwartzman for you, it seems that Jason and Robbie's half brother John is still a successful DP. Okay, now I'm officially Schwartzmaned out.

I'm gonna blog about some things!

-This article struck me as covertly sexist and overtly pointless, but I've been told that I might be overly sensitive, and I wouldn't be shocked if that were the case. So what's the verdict? Harmless, possibly useful advice on hetero marriages or reinforcement of the view that women shouldn't become too independent or have confidence in their relationships?

-In 1910 some crazy kids perpetrated the Dreadnought Hoax. The culprits included infamous prankster Horace de Vere Cole and the famous author Virginia Woolf (via the Museum of Hoaxes, which is a website to bookmark, as there are days of fun to be had).

-On an almost unrelated note, this is the greatest thing I've seen in a while (via Geekologie).
